White House Fellow Returns to Mississippi Office of Bradley Arant

Cory T. Wilson has returned to the Jackson office after serving as a 2005-2006 White House Fellow. The White House Fellows Program, founded in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, offers exceptional young men and women first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the federal government. White House Fellows typically spend one year working as full-time, paid special assistants to senior White House Staff, the Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries, and other top-ranking government officials. Mr. Wilson served as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense.

While at the Pentagon, he worked on the response effort to Hurricane Katrina, projects supporting the military and the transformation of the Department of Defense, and strategic communications in support of efforts to counter the threat posed by improvised explosive devices (“IEDs”). Over the year, Fellows also meet with senior leaders from government, business, academia, and the media. Fellows also travel on domestic and international policy trips. This year Mr. Wilson traveled to Italy, North Africa, Cuba, and military installations across the country with senior Defense officials. He also took trips to Latin America, Mississippi, Louisiana, New York, and Alaska. Following the fellowship year, Fellows are expected to repay the privilege by contributing to the Nation as better leaders and public servants.

The White House Fellows Program is one of the Nation’s most prestigious programs for leadership and public service. Selection as a White House Fellow is highly competitive and based on a record of remarkable professional achievement, evidence of leadership skills, strong commitment to public service, and the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute successfully at the highest levels of the federal government.
